[FANACCOUNT]: B.A.P Live On Earth Tour - New York (Part 1)

Part 2: Concert

Every single B.A.P fan had been counting down the days on their calendars until May 17th, which marked the day of their concert in New York. With the line-up extending around the Best Buy Theater building and around the next two block, Babyz grew excited to see their six boys. But since my friends and I came a day in advance, I will start there.

Late night on Wednesday, Jessica, Jay, Megan and I got on the bus and began our long 12 hour ride from Toronto, Canada to New York city! Despite us all barely knowing each other, we wasted no time with introductions and got right into the topic of the concert. Turns out, that on the same bus as us, were two other Babyz also heading to the New York concert.

After our 12 hour ride, we finally arrived in New York at 8:00AM. Knowing that the preshow would be later today, the four of us made our way to Times Center to see if a line-up had begun. And to no one’s surprise, people were already lined up. We managed to be the second group of people in the line, but soon after we lined up, more people began to gather and by noon the line extended almost down the whole street. Being the K-pop fans we are, we danced and sang in line while waiting to be let into the Center where the preshow would soon be held.

Finally after two o’clock, we were let into the center and all of us quickly made our way to the room where the preshow was being held. With a box of presents from Canada, I made my way over to the Mnet table to hand in the gifts. I managed to be the very first person to hand in a gift!

With my hands now full, Jessica, Jay and I began to line up for the various activities Verizon setup for the fans. At each activity, scratch cards were given away, and on those cards it either said “Try Again” or “Congratulations”. If you won, then you would be allowed to participate in the hi-touch event with B.A.P later in the day.

Hoping luck would be with me, I lined up for every single activity and even signed up for the dance contest hoping to win. After participating in every single activity, I had over 10 scratch cards, all saying “Try Again”. But I would not give up! Jay managed to get a winning scratch card very quickly though.

When it was time for the dance contest, I gathered around the stage with the other contestants waiting to see who would perform their freestyle first. My name was called and I had to go up first. The song which I had to freestyle to was 2PM’s “Hands Up”, and the score I got from the judges was 26/30. After everyone else had performed, the MC began to announce the third, second and first place winners. My friend Harny won third place and got an official B.A.P face mask. Second place was won by me! I was so surprised! I got an official B.A.P whistle, and first place was won by a girl who got an official whistle and a scratch card,

The preshow was not even close to being over yet though. Jessica and I continued to participate in activities hoping to get into the hi-touch event. After 16 “Try Again” cards, Jessica finally managed to get a winning card! She got into the preshow! We were all so happy for her. I had hoped that I too would be able to get a winning card, but sadly, by the end of the preshow, I had 20 “Try Again” cards and 0 winning cards.

As Jessica and Jay lined up for the hi-touch event, I ran over to the MVT K studio with some new friends to wait for B.A.P to come and perform. Babyz were lined up along the road outside waiting for B.A.P to perform up in the building. The MTV K studio had large windows which the fans outside could watch from. Jessica and Jay came to join me after the hi-touch event, needless to say, I never let go of Jessica’s hand after she told me she hi-fived Zelo… Indirect hand holding with Zelo!

At around 7:30PM, the MC came out and hyped up the crowd outside and even interviewed some fans. The cameraman was walking around the crowd and spotted my friends and I with two large Canadian flags. Impressed by our dedication to come this far for B.A.P, he began to film us and we sang the Canadian national anthem for the camera! On live streamed TV!

Soon after 8:00PM, fans began to scream as B.A.P made their way to the front of the crowd. The first B.A.P member which I saw live in person was Zelo. Thank goodness he was tall because he was just about the only one I could see. The boys were interviewed by the MC and answered some of the fans questions. After about 5 minutes, the boys went back inside to prepare for their performance for MTV K. Since Megan was not feeling well, the four of us headed back to the hotel, not realizing that B.A.P were about to perform live!

Since we were all hungry, Jay, Jessica and I went out for a food run but, not too surprisingly, we got sidetracked when we saw B.A.P performing “No Mercy” through the large windows. We quickly ran over to the crowd of fans outside and began to watch and sing along. Knowing that the fans outside were watching, the boys turned to the windows whenever they got the chance and gave us some fanservice! They were so cute! After “No Mercy”, they began to perform “Warrior”, to which the fans also sang along to outside. Despite us only being able to see their backsides for the majority of the time, it was still an amazing experience!

The three of us heard that B.A.P would be leaving soon and we heard that they would be leaving through the back exit, so we ran over and gathered around the waiting fans, But sadly, after and hour of some fans not listening to security, they sent us across the street while B.A.P entered their white Hummer limo. Before Yongguk got into the limo all the way, he peaked out from the door again and blew some fans kisses before disappearing into the car again. After seeing B.A.P leave the studio, we quickly got food and ran back to the hotel to prepare for the long day ahead of us! The day of the concert!
